A Place of Our Own shares ways for caregivers to help children acquire cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills, as well as nurture language and literacy development.

All the sites listed on the Web Guide have been systematically evaluated by graduate students and faculty in child development. The goal of the Web Guide is to give the public easy access to the best child development information on the Web. There are five main categories of information: family/parenting, education/learning, typical child development, health/mental health, and resources/recreation.
