Food for Thought: Understanding the Effects of Radon

Registration Required

Date of Event: March 23, 2017 - March 23, 2017

Starts at: 11:30 am

Tramway Nonprofit Center Blue Conference Room 3532 Franklin Street Denver, CO 80205

Radon is a radioactive, cancer-causing gas that comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water.
You cannot see it, smell it, or taste it.  There is NO SAFE LEVEL of radon exposure!
Due to lung shape and size differences, children have faster breathing rates than adults and therefore, higher estimated radiation doses.
New rules require that Child Care Facilities (center-based) must complete radon testing by May 1, 2017.
Join us and Denver Environmental Health for a free lunch and information session on radon and the new rules.
FREE radon testing kits and .5 clock hours will be available to participants.
This lunch is sponsored by Lakeshore Learning, who will be providing free product giveaways!
