DENVER PRESCHOOL PROGRAM (DPP)
Quality preschool experiences help to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.
Denver Preschool Program makes quality preschool possible for all Denver families with four-year-old children and some qualifying three-year-olds through a dedicated sales tax. DPP was first approved by voters in 2006 and renewed and extended in 2014. DPP has provided $80 million in tuition support to help more than 41,000 Denver children attend the preschool of their family’s choice.
The Denver Preschool Program supports both family child care homes and center-based preschool programs by paying tuition support for each child directly to the child care program each month and providing a marketing platform for programs. DPP also works with us to administer quality improvement grants that support coaching, college courses, trainings, conferences, and classroom materials.
