Heidi Whitney

Heidi is the program manager of the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation program at the Mental Health Center of Denver. While pursuing a Bachelor’s of Social Work, Heidi worked in the Calvin University Service Learning Center as a service-learning coordinator where her passion for community-based social impact programming was sparked. Heidi completed a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Community Development while working in neighborhood re-development and community organizing efforts in Detroit, MI. This community-based focus was then forever tied to the field of infant mental health as Heidi worked, first as a home-based early intervention clinician in Gallup, NM, and then as an Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician. After 11 years of providing Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC), Heidi currently manages the ECMHC program at the Mental Health Center of Denver. This position affords Heidi the opportunity to participate in the development and growth of a statewide model of ECMHC working to expand access to ECMHC among families and childcare programs in Denver.
