What is Denver's Early Childhood Council?
One of 35 regional Early Childhood Councils in Colorado, we serve as Denver’s early childhood hub. Our team of coaches, quality navigators, and other specialists connect child care professionals to training, funding, career and business resources, and other support so that they can focus on what they do best: provide high-quality care and learning environments for children.
We also serve as a community advocate, connecting child care providers with policy makers to inform and strengthen early childhood systems throughout the city and county of Denver and the state of Colorado. Our focus is on equitable solutions for workforce stability, family access, resources for child development, and community well-being.
Is Denver's Early Childhood Council a Child Care Program?
No. We provide support to child care programs of all types throughout Denver. If you are looking for child care, see our Finding Child Care page.
Does Denver's Early Childhood Council run PDIS?
No. PDIS, the Professional Development Information System, is administered by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. Visit the PDIS.
Does Denver's Early Childhood Council run Colorado Shines?
No. Colorado Shines is administered by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood, however, our team works closely with child care programs to prepare for and maintain ratings within the Colorado Shines system. Is Denver's Early Childhood Council part of Licensing?
No. Child Care Licensing and Administration is part of the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. Visit the Colorado Shines website for your questions about licensing.
