The Child Care Contribution Tax Credit in Colorado is a special way the state rewards people or businesses who donate to organizations that support child care.

Here’s how it works: If you donate to a qualifying child care organization (like Denver’s Early Childhood Council), the state gives you back half of what you donated in the form of a tax credit. That means for every dollar you give, you can get 50 cents back when it’s time to pay your state taxes. If you donate $250, you can reduce your state taxes by $125. This is in addition to the usual tax benefits for donating, which means you’re not just helping kids and families—you’re also getting a nice reward from the state!
