JOIN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Denver’s Early Childhood Council is seeking experienced, thoughtful leaders to join its Board of Directors.DECC serves as a backbone organization for Denver’s early childhood system, supporting providers, strengthening quality, and helping ensure families have access to care that supports children’s development and long-term success.
As the organization continues to evolve, we are focused on building a board that brings strong governance, strategic thinking, and a commitment to advancing outcomes for children and families across Denver.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who bring both expertise and a governance mindset. Areas of experience that would strengthen the board include:
- Early care and education
- Family support and parent education services
- Health care
- Local government
- Parent of a child five (5) years of age or younger
- Mental health care
- Resource and referral agency
What Board Service Entails
Board service is an active leadership role with clear responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and organizational oversight
- Ensure financial stewardship and accountability
- Support and hold accountable the Chief Executive Officer
- Strengthen the organization’s sustainability through relationships and resource development
- Participation in board and committee meetings
