Denver’s Early Childhood Council announces new CEO
Denver’s Early Childhood Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Shelby Mattingly as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 13, 2023. With an extensive background in leading non-profit and social impact organizations, Shelby brings a wealth of experience and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Denver’s Early Childhood Council.
Shelby joins Denver’s Early Childhood Council most recently from Inside the Orchestra. Serving as Executive Director there for a decade, she collaborated with staff and community representatives to develop program strategies and define a shared vision aimed at meeting the needs of the community. She brings a solid history of program development and scaling, increasing revenues, and innovative pivoting strategies to sustain and grow business during the global pandemic. Her earlier work included accounting, human resources, office management, and event planning.

We believe her vision will strengthen and invigorate the Council and we’re excited to move forward in our work together!”

Shelby has a Master of Public Administration with a Nonprofit Management Concentration from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance with a Minor in English Literature from Denison University, Granville, OH.
She currently serves as a Board Member for the Alliance for Music Education Equity.
