UPCOMING TRAININGS AND EVENTS AT DENVER’S EARLY CHILDHOOD COUNCIL
ENGLISH – Social Development and Strategies of Play
September 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Social development unfolds through play. Using simple sensory exploration with infants to complex cooperative games preschool, we review Mildred Parten’s Six Stages of Play and theories of Piaget, Vygotsky, and Bandura. This training helps early childhood educators recognize, support, and extend children’s play as a foundation for social-emotional and cognitive growth. Participants will identify real-world examples, reflect on children’s behavior, and explore strategies for supporting shy, withdrawn, or isolated children through observation, modeling, and responsive interaction.
Participants who attend and actively participate in this training will receive a certificate of completion for 2 credit hours aligned with the Social-Emotional Health and Development Promotion competency in Colorado Shines.
