Finance corner with Leslie
There are a lot of changes coming for 2024, specifically minimum wage increasing in Denver to $18.29! We know through working with many child care providers that salaries are always a struggle and we want to help you get prepared! Through financial coaching (fully funded for DPP and Colorado Shines Quality Improvement sites*), we are able to help talk you through how you can manage this increase. Financial coaching can help you think through:
- Reviewing your salaries and considering how to budget for cost of living increases
- How to maintain equitable increases for your more tenured staff
- Reviewing your budget to see where there might be additional revenue opportunities
- Considering how to decrease expenses
- Thinking through your tuition scale and fee structure for families
- Considering additional retention strategies beyond wages for long-term success
If you need help talking through any of these tasks, or have questions pertaining to your budget, please schedule a time with Leslie Zirker: https://calendly.com/lesliezirker/30min.
*Does your program operate outside of Denver? If your program is engaged with Colorado Shines Quality Improvement, you can use coaching hours. If not, contact Dora Esparza, Director of Business Services, at dora@denverearlychildhood.org to talk about consultation options and costs.
