Looking ahead
Dear Community,
As we look ahead from an intense election season, we know that many in our community are feeling a wide range of emotions while we process the outcomes and prepare for transition. We want you to know that we are here for you – in partnership, in support, and in advocacy.
At Denver’s Early Childhood Council, we believe that all children should have access to enriching early learning experiences, and that the early childhood workforce deserves respect, recognition, and resources for the essential services they provide to children, families, and communities every day. Early educators, whether in the home, in a community center, or at a public school, are at the heart of not only children’s healthy development but also the stability of families and the resilience of our economy.
While the national election results have been in the spotlight, we know that the actions taken at the local level have a profound impact on our community. Our priorities have been and will remain to strengthen early childhood systems throughout the city and county of Denver. We are committed to advancing equitable solutions that support early childhood workforce stability, ensure family access, provide resources for child development, and foster community well-being.
We will continue to advocate for support of policies that ensure equitable access to high-quality early childhood education and services across Denver and Colorado. We are committed to elevating the early childhood workforce, improving child and family outcomes, and addressing systemic challenges. We know that we need each other, and the children need all of us – to build a better future for our community and for them.
We see you and hear you, and we look forward to our continued service to the community.
Shelby Mattingly, CEO & the staff at Denver’s Early Childhood Council
