PDIS employment and experience – helpful information for teachers and administrators

by Ché Walker, Career Coach

It’s time to start updating your Professional Development Information System (PDIS) credential level in order to receive the highest early childhood state tax credit you are entitled to! For more information go to https://tax.colorado.gov/early-childhood-educator-income-tax-credit.

PDIS needs your Early Childhood Professional Credential (ECPC) application in by December 2, 2024 in order to approve it during the 2024 tax year.

If Employment and Experience hours are entered directly into PDIS, they are automatically added to credential applications. Administrators will not need to write letters and employees will not need to upload letters for any experience hours entered into PDIS.

It is important to note that PDIS only accepts experience hours from licensed programs. Both Family Childcare Homes (FCCH) and Child Care Centers (CCC) must be licensed for PDIS to accept experience hours from them. PDIS does accept both out of state and international experience hours as long as all the required components are in the experience verification letter and it is in English. For more information on experience letter requirements go to https://www.coloradoshinespdis.com/s/early-childhood-experience-explained?language=en_US.
