Council Update

We wanted to provide an update to the community that we are continuing an in-depth executive search process for a new CEO to steward the momentum of Denver’s Early Childhood Council following Shelby Mattingly’s departure. We have chosen to move forward with an interim role as we continue our search to find the right fit for our strategic direction and organizational culture.

Additionally, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to Shelby for making bold leadership strides on behalf of the Council during her tenure with us. Her vision and contributions have made the organization stronger and more resilient. We wish her all the best in her new position as CEO at the Women’s Bean Project.

As of July 7, Maureen Reid has officially been appointed as Interim CEO. She will oversee all aspects of the Council’s operations and report to the Board of Directors. Maureen has provided steady leadership at the Council since 2017 as Director of Quality Initiatives and Chief Program Officer. She is committed to guiding the organization through the transition period while we continue our search.
